Whenever you walk into any party, the first thing that you will see going around is finger food. Depending on the theme of the party, finger food is either sea-food or vegetarian or red meat. Finger food served during Christmas comes in colors of deep red, green or white and is usually cooked in a lot of wine. The thing with appetizers and finger food is that how good it is, actually sets the standard of an even better main course.

The finger food you get at Christmas parties may be sweet or savory and will mostly come with a dip or spread. During the Christmas season, some of the finger foods offered includes -

  • Cocktail Meatball: These are meatballs with a Christmas attitude; they are mostly made of lamb and cooked in wine vinegar. They are served at parties along with champagne and are served on a platter with cranberry sauce as dip. These finger foods have a savory taste of wine, while the cranberry dip adds a punch of fruit to it.
  • Marinated Olives and Feta: These finger foods appeal more to the Christmas lovers who are vegetarian. They are mostly feta and olives marinated in lemon, rosemary and garlic and served on a crispy cracker. You may even garnish these with grated cheddar cheese.
  • Austrian Cheese Spread and Pumpkin Seed Oil: These are slices of brown bread baked in pumpkin seed oil, which is then topped up with delicious Austrian cheese. This is a unique finger food and is mostly served during the Christmas season.
  • Mushroom Stuffed with Goat Cheese: In this appetizer, the mushroom is baked in butter till it turns golden brown; the insides of the Mushroom are then gorged out and filled in with goat cheese. A little dry red wine is added to the filling to make it savory.
  • Spiced Pita Chips with Artichoke and Spinach Dip: The artichokes are marinated with white wine and garlic and cheese is also added for fragrance and depth to the dip. The dip truly compliments the spiced pita chips and befits as an appetizer that is to be served for a wonderful occasion as Christmas.

So, if you are looking to throw a party, then you may want to consider keeping the above finger foods on your menu as appetizers.
